Based in Scituate, on the South Shore of Massachusetts, Doc Ellis is a cover band that offers an eclectic set of songs, with no genre off limits. On a given night we will cover Johnny Cash, Meghan Trainor, Motorhead, War, The Grateful Dead, Outkast, James Brown, Beastie Boys, Deep Purple, Dwight Yoakam, The Monochrome Set, Flo Rida…. you get the picture. Setlists are never repeated; we tailor our song selections for every gig and event, from formal fundraisers and family cookouts to all night rave-ups. Recognizing that music is a living breathing thing, we don’t just settle for playing the same old “greatest hits.” We’re always on the lookout for new sounds and our songlist is constantly updated with new material.

Doc Ellis also performs on occasion as Sandmen, a side project dedicated to covering the music of Mark Sandman and Morphine.

Doc Ellis is:

Tom Bleakney on guitar and vocals

Nels Lindblom on sax and vocals

Itai Halevi on bass and vocals

Jay FitzGibbons on drums

Doc Ellis was selected to be the musical entertainment for
the first Scituate Town Winter Festival in 2016 and will be
featured performers at the Scituate Downtown Artwalk in May of 2016.

Doc Ellis currently organizes and hosts the Coffeehouse at the Mt. Hope Improvement Society, as well as the Satuit Independent Music Festival. Both events have received the sponsorship of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
